「からかみ（唐紙）」とは元々、平安時代に唐（現在の中国）より伝来した美術紙である。四季折々の花や波、雲といった自然を模した文様などさまざまな伝統文様を胡粉や雲母といった顔料を使って柄付けをしている。光琳大波は江戸中期・尾形光琳作の波紋。大波の特徴は線が太く末端まで一定であることである。
Kira Shu
"Karakami" (Tang paper) is an art paper originally introduced from Tang (now China) during the Heian period, featuring traditional patterns inspired by nature, such as flowers, waves, and clouds. Patterns like "Korindanami," inspired by the mid-Edo period’s Ogata Korin, feature thick, even lines, representing waves.
